First! And not just first! on this post but first! on the entire blog (I guess). This raises my douche-factor exponentially.
First is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with the hairy chest. This will prevent anyone else from commenting. Unless it is Ruby himself, fulfilling a yearning as his chest is like a dolphin's back.
Already getting zinged! Hell hath no fury like a commenter suppressed.
I liked your piece about opening to a dead crowd .
opening is hard you're basically "pumping up the tyres " for the rest of the acts .The good thing is that opening a lot will make you a better comic
Matt i just read your whole blog and liked most of it. I'm taking the class at carolines. I'll meet you on the circuit sooner or later.
"pumping up the tyres" = "taking the bullet" is the phrase i usually hear. pretty much sums it up.
taking a bullet is the wrong attitude !
in the early 1950's jerry lee lewis would often open for way more famous acts . As he passed the more famous act in the wings he's whisper " no one follows the killer !" then go on stage and give it gangbusters !
try it , i swear to God it will change your perception of opening and also flag up the weak spots in your act
